Qualcomm’s Snapdragon is really getting around these days. Not too long after Sony Ericsson confirmed that their XPERIA X10 will have an Android operating system running on the 1 GHz processor, we now find LG announcing its own Snapdragon Android mobile phone. Details are still sketchy as they released the announcement along with launching their first Android mobile phone, the LG GW620. Things are looking up for Android fans as this latest announcement adds two more Android phones in this year’s already impressive lineup of Android mobile phones. With Windows Mobile’s consistent flaws; and the ever delayed version 7 staying below the radar, people are looking for more reliable, faster and easier to use operating systems. While HTC Sense, Zune and Linux mobile present excellent choices, none are as successful as the Android

Still, despite the public success Android has, there is still a lack of mobile devices that use this OS. With newer versions of the Android operating system being made, it would really be nice to see more Android smart phones. Fortunately for all of us, this last quarter of 2009 and the coming year seems to be quite promising for the Google-made platform. For the past few months, HTC has been hard at work cranking out new Android smart phones; now, they are joined by Sony Ericsson, Motorola and LG.

With a great line of Android mobile phones headed our way, we can expect 2010 to be a very interesting year for mobile devices. Personally, I have been waiting for the XPERIA X10, but with Android being made available on so many platforms, I just might go ahead and try some of the more cost-effective deals out there. Better yet, I might just hold out until LG announces the full specs of their Snapdragon Android so we can compare it side by side with the X10.
